The BLT (Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato)
Ingredients:
8 slices Thick-cut bacon
4 slices Sourdough or Country white bread
2 tbsp Mayonnaise
4 leaves Iceberg or Romaine lettuce (crisp)
4 thick slices Ripe tomato
Salt and pepper
Instructions:
Cook bacon in a skillet or oven until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
Toast the bread slices until golden.
Spread mayonnaise generously on one side of each slice of toast.
On the bottom slice, layer the lettuce, then the tomato.
Season the tomato slices with salt and pepper (this makes a huge difference).
Top with the bacon strips and the second slice of bread.
Cut in half diagonally and serve.
