Carnitas (Slow Cooker)

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 lb Pork shoulder (butt)

  • 1 tbsp Oregano

  • 1 tbsp Cumin

  • 1 tbsp Salt

  • 1 Onion, quartered

  • 2 Oranges (juiced, toss peels in pot)

  • 2 cloves Garlic

Instructions:

  1. Rub pork with spices. Place in slow cooker.

  2. Add onion, garlic, orange juice, and peels. Do NOT add water/stock (fat will render).

  3. Cook on Low for 8 hours.

  4. Shred the meat.

  5. Important step: Spread meat on a baking sheet and broil for 5 minutes to get crispy edges before serving.
