Carnitas (Slow Cooker)
Ingredients:
3-4 lb Pork shoulder (butt)
1 tbsp Oregano
1 tbsp Cumin
1 tbsp Salt
1 Onion, quartered
2 Oranges (juiced, toss peels in pot)
2 cloves Garlic
Instructions:
Rub pork with spices. Place in slow cooker.
Add onion, garlic, orange juice, and peels. Do NOT add water/stock (fat will render).
Cook on Low for 8 hours.
Shred the meat.
Important step: Spread meat on a baking sheet and broil for 5 minutes to get crispy edges before serving.
