Corn Dogs

Ingredients:

  • 8 Hot dogs

  • 8 Wooden skewers

  • 1 cup Yellow cornmeal

  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • 1/4 cup Sugar

  • 1 tbsp Baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp Salt

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 cup Milk

  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Pour oil into a deep pot (or deep fryer) and heat to 360°F (180°C).

  2. Pat hot dogs completely dry with paper towels (batter won't stick to wet dogs). Insert skewers.

  3. Mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.

  4. Stir in egg and milk until smooth. Pour batter into a tall drinking glass (for easy dipping).

  5. Dip each hot dog into the glass to coat fully.

  6. Immediately lower into hot oil. Fry 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown.

  7. Drain on paper towels.
