Classic American Cheeseburger
Ingredients:
1.5 lbs (680g) Ground beef (80/20 blend)
4 Hamburger buns
4 slices American or Cheddar cheese
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Garlic powder
Toppings: Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard.
Instructions:
Divide beef into 4 equal portions. Form into patties slightly wider than the buns. Press a dimple in the center of each.
Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Heat a grill or cast-iron skillet to medium-high heat.
Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side (for medium).
Add cheese slices during the last minute of cooking; cover pan/grill to melt.
Toast the buns lightly.
Assemble burgers with desired toppings.
