Classic American Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) Ground beef (80/20 blend)

  • 4 Hamburger buns

  • 4 slices American or Cheddar cheese

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • 1 tsp Black pepper

  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

  • Toppings: Lettuce leaves, tomato slices, red onion slices, pickles, ketchup, mustard.

Instructions:

  1. Divide beef into 4 equal portions. Form into patties slightly wider than the buns. Press a dimple in the center of each.

  2. Season both sides generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. Heat a grill or cast-iron skillet to medium-high heat.

  4. Cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side (for medium).

  5. Add cheese slices during the last minute of cooking; cover pan/grill to melt.

  6. Toast the buns lightly.

  7. Assemble burgers with desired toppings.
