Dutch Apple Pie

Ingredients:

  • 1 Unbaked 9-inch pie crust

  • Filling:

    • 6 cups Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, sliced)

    • 1/2 cup Sugar

    • 1 tsp Cinnamon

    • 1 tbsp Lemon juice

  • Crumb Topping:

    • 1 cup All-purpose flour

    • 1/2 cup Brown sugar

    • 1/2 cup Butter, cold and cubed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Toss apple slices with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Arrange in the pie shell.

  3. In a small bowl, mix flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter with a fork until it looks like coarse crumbs.

  4. Sprinkle the crumb mixture generously over the apples.

  5. Bake for 45–50 minutes. If the topping browns too fast, cover loosely with foil.

  6. Cool completely to allow the filling to thicken.
