Herb and Sausage Stuffing
Ingredients:
1 lb Loaf of white bread (dried out and cubed)
1 lb Bulk pork sausage (Sage or Breakfast variety)
3/4 cup Butter
2 cups Onion, diced
1.5 cups Celery, chopped
2.5 cups Chicken or Turkey broth
1 tbsp Fresh sage, chopped
1 tsp Poultry seasoning
Salt and pepper
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 baking dish.
In a large skillet, brown the sausage, breaking it up into crumbles. Remove sausage, keep the fat in the pan.
Add butter, onions, and celery to the skillet. Sauté until soft (8 mins).
In a massive bowl, combine bread cubes, cooked sausage, and vegetable mixture.
Sprinkle sage, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper over the mix.
Drizzle broth over the bread while tossing gently. The bread should be moist but not soggy.
Transfer to the baking dish. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes to crisp the top.
