Reuben Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices Rye bread

  • 1 lb Corned beef, thinly sliced

  • 1 cup Sauerkraut, drained well

  • 8 slices Swiss cheese

  • 1/2 cup Russian or Thousand Island dressing

  • Butter for frying

Instructions:

  1. Butter one side of each slice of bread.

  2. Place 4 slices butter-side down on a cutting board.

  3. Spread dressing on the face-up side.

  4. Layer: 1 slice cheese, corned beef, sauerkraut, 1 slice cheese.

  5. Top with remaining bread, butter-side up.

  6. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill sandwiches until bread is crispy and cheese is melted (about 3–4 minutes per side).
