Steamed Whole Fish

Ingredients:

  • 1 Whole White Fish (Snapper or Sea Bass), cleaned and scaled

  • 2-inch piece Ginger, julienned

  • 3 stalks Green onions, julienned

  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Instructions:

  1. Score the fish on both sides. Stuff cavity with half the ginger.

  2. Place fish on a heat-proof plate in a steamer. Steam for 8–12 minutes (depending on size) until flesh flakes.

  3. Carefully pour off the fishy water that accumulated on the plate.

  4. Top fish with fresh ginger and green onions.

  5. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan until smoking hot. Pour carefully over the aromatics on the fish (it should sizzle).

  6. Drizzle soy sauce over the fish.
