Texas Sheet Cake
Ingredients:
Cake: 2 cups Flour, 2 cups Sugar, 1 cup Butter, 1 cup Water, 4 tbsp Cocoa powder, 2 Eggs, 1/2 cup Buttermilk, 1 tsp Baking soda, 1 tsp Vanilla.
Icing: 1/2 cup Butter, 2 tbsp Cocoa powder, 6 tbsp Milk, 3 cups Powdered sugar, 1 cup Chopped pecans, 1 tsp Vanilla.
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large rimmed baking sheet (jelly roll pan).
In a saucepan, boil 1 cup butter, water, and 4 tbsp cocoa. Remove from heat.
Pour chocolate mix over flour/sugar in a bowl. Mix well. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, and vanilla.
Pour into the pan. Bake for 18–20 minutes.
Make Icing (while cake bakes): Melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan. Stir in 2 tbsp cocoa and milk. Boil. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and pecans.
Pour warm icing over the hot cake immediately after taking it out of the oven.
